The Passion Week of Christ - Day ( 8 )

This is day ( 8 ) of the typical Passion Week.

Sunday- Jesus rises from the dead and appears to several witnesses
(Matt. 18:1-8, Mark 16:1-8, Luke 24:1-12)

Matthew 18:1-8
Who Is the Greatest?
1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
2 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.
Jesus Warns of Offenses

6 “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. 7 Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!
8 “If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire.

Mark 16:1-8
He Is Risen
1 Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him. 2 Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. 3 And they said among themselves, “Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?” 4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away—for it was very large. 5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed.
6 But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. 7 But go, tell His disciples—and Peter—that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.”
8 So they went out quickly and fled from the tomb, for they trembled and were amazed. And they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

Luke 24:1-12
He Is Risen
1 Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2 But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. 3 Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. 5 Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, 7 saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’”
8 And they remembered His words. 9 Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. 10 It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles. 11 And their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them. 12 But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying by themselves; and he departed, marveling to himself at what had happened.

Matthew 26:47-56
Betrayal and Arrest in Gethsemane

47 And while He was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, with a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and elders of the people.
48 Now His betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him.” 49 Immediately he went up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed Him.
50 But Jesus said to him, “Friend, why have you come?”
Then they came and laid hands on Jesus and took Him. 51 And suddenly, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.
52 But Jesus said to him, “Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish[a] by the sword. 53 Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels? 54 How then could the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen thus?”
55 In that hour Jesus said to the multitudes, “Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to take Me? I sat daily with you, teaching in the temple, and you did not seize Me. 56 But all this was done that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.”
Then all the disciples forsook Him and fled.

Mark 14:43-50
Betrayal and Arrest in Gethsemane

43 And immediately, while He was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, with a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. 44 Now His betrayer had given them a signal, saying, “Whomever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him and lead Him away safely.”
45 As soon as he had come, immediately he went up to Him and said to Him, “Rabbi, Rabbi!” and kissed Him.
46 Then they laid their hands on Him and took Him. 47 And one of those who stood by drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.
48 Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to take Me? 49 I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you did not seize Me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.”
50 Then they all forsook Him and fled.

He is then taken before Annas, Caiaphas and finally the Sanhedrin, or, Jewish Court
(John 18:13-24, Mark 14:53-15:1).

John 18:13-24
13 And they led Him away to Annas first, for he was the father-in-law of Caiaphas who was high priest that year. 14 Now it was Caiaphas who advised the Jews that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.

Peter Denies Jesus

15 And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple. Now that disciple was known to the high priest, and went with Jesus into the courtyard of the high priest. 16 But Peter stood at the door outside. Then the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to her who kept the door, and brought Peter in. 17 Then the servant girl who kept the door said to Peter, “You are not also one of this Man’s disciples, are you?”
He said, “I am not.”
18 Now the servants and officers who had made a fire of coals stood there, for it was cold, and they warmed themselves. And Peter stood with them and warmed himself.

Jesus Questioned by the High Priest

19 The high priest then asked Jesus about His disciples and His doctrine.
20 Jesus answered him, “I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where the Jews always meet, and in secret I have said nothing. 21 Why do you ask Me? Ask those who have heard Me what I said to them. Indeed they know what I said.”
22 And when He had said these things, one of the officers who stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, “Do You answer the high priest like that?”
23 Jesus answered him, “If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil; but if well, why do you strike Me?”
24 Then Annas sent Him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.

Mark 14:53
Jesus Faces the Sanhedrin

53 And they led Jesus away to the high priest; and with him were assembled all the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes.

Mark 15:1
Jesus Faces Pilate
1 Immediately, in the morning, the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council; and they bound Jesus, led Him away, and delivered Him to Pilate.

He then goes through His Roman trial before Pilate, Herod Antipas, and then Pilate again
(Matt. 27:2-23, Mark 15:2-14, Luke 23:6-12).

Matthew 27:2-23
2 And when they had bound Him, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

Judas Hangs Himself

3 Then Judas, His betrayer, seeing that He had been condemned, was remorseful and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, 4 saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.”
And they said, “What is that to us? You see to it!”
5 Then he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple and departed, and went and hanged himself.
6 But the chief priests took the silver pieces and said, “It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, because they are the price of blood.” 7 And they consulted together and bought with them the potter’s field, to bury strangers in. 8 Therefore that field has been called the Field of Blood to this day.
9 Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying, “And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the value of Him who was priced, whom they of the children of Israel priced, 10 and gave them for the potter’s field, as the LORD directed me.”

Jesus Faces Pilate

11 Now Jesus stood before the governor. And the governor asked Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews?”
Jesus said to him, “It is as you say.” 12 And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing.
13 Then Pilate said to Him, “Do You not hear how many things they testify against You?” 14 But He answered him not one word, so that the governor marveled greatly.

Taking the Place of Barabbas

15 Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to releasing to the multitude one prisoner whom they wished. 16 And at that time they had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas.[c] 17 Therefore, when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?” 18 For he knew that they had handed Him over because of envy.
19 While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him.”
20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus. 21 The governor answered and said to them, “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?”
They said, “Barabbas!”
22 Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?”
They all said to him, “Let Him be crucified!”
23 Then the governor said, “Why, what evil has He done?”
But they cried out all the more, saying, “Let Him be crucified!”

Mark 15:2-14
2 Then Pilate asked Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?”
He answered and said to him, “It is as you say.”
3 And the chief priests accused Him of many things, but He answered nothing. 4 Then Pilate asked Him again, saying, “Do You answer nothing? See how many things they testify against You!” 5 But Jesus still answered nothing, so that Pilate marveled.

Taking the Place of Barabbas

6 Now at the feast he was accustomed to releasing one prisoner to them, whomever they requested. 7 And there was one named Barabbas, who was chained with his fellow rebels; they had committed murder in the rebellion. 8 Then the multitude, crying aloud,[b] began to ask him to do just as he had always done for them. 9 But Pilate answered them, saying, “Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?” 10 For he knew that the chief priests had handed Him over because of envy.
11 But the chief priests stirred up the crowd, so that he should rather release Barabbas to them. 12 Pilate answered and said to them again, “What then do you want me to do with Him whom you call the King of the Jews?”
13 So they cried out again, “Crucify Him!”
14 Then Pilate said to them, “Why, what evil has He done?”
But they cried out all the more, “Crucify Him!”

Luke 23:6-12
Jesus Faces Herod

6 When Pilate heard of Galilee,[a] he asked if the Man were a Galilean. 7 And as soon as he knew that He belonged to Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent Him to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem at that time. 8 Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad; for he had desired for a long time to see Him, because he had heard many things about Him, and he hoped to see some miracle done by Him. 9 Then he questioned Him with many words, but He answered him nothing. 10 And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused Him. 11 Then Herod, with his men of war, treated Him with contempt and mocked Him, arrayed Him in a gorgeous robe, and sent Him back to Pilate. 12 That very day Pilate and Herod became friends with each other, for previously they had been at enmity with each other.

Finally, Jesus is crucified at approximately 9:00 AM
(Matt 27:27-54, Mark 15:16-39).

Matthew 27:27-54
The Soldiers Mock Jesus

27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole garrison around Him. 28 And they stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him. 29 When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” 30 Then they spat on Him, and took the reed and struck Him on the head. 31 And when they had mocked Him, they took the robe off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him away to be crucified.
The King on a Cross

32 Now as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. Him they compelled to bear His cross. 33 And when they had come to a place called Golgotha, that is to say, Place of a Skull, 34 they gave Him sour[a] wine mingled with gall to drink. But when He had tasted it, He would not drink.
35 Then they crucified Him, and divided His garments, casting lots, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet:
“ They divided My garments among them,
And for My clothing they cast lots.”
36 Sitting down, they kept watch over Him there. 37 And they put up over His head the accusation written against Him:

THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

38 Then two robbers were crucified with Him, one on the right and another on the left.
39 And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads 40 and saying, “You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.”
41 Likewise the chief priests also, mocking with the scribes and elders,[d] said, 42 “He saved others; Himself He cannot save. If He is the King of Israel,[e] let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe Him.[f] 43 He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He will have Him; for He said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”
44 Even the robbers who were crucified with Him reviled Him with the same thing.

Jesus Dies on the Cross

45 Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land. 46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
47 Some of those who stood there, when they heard that, said, “This Man is calling for Elijah!” 48 Immediately one of them ran and took a sponge, filled it with sour wine and put it on a reed, and offered it to Him to drink.
49 The rest said, “Let Him alone; let us see if Elijah will come to save Him.”
50 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.
51 Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, 52 and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; 53 and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.
54 So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!”

Mark 15:16-39
The Soldiers Mock Jesus

16 Then the soldiers led Him away into the hall called Praetorium, and they called together the whole garrison. 17 And they clothed Him with purple; and they twisted a crown of thorns, put it on His head, 18 and began to salute Him, “Hail, King of the Jews!” 19 Then they struck Him on the head with a reed and spat on Him; and bowing the knee, they worshiped Him. 20 And when they had mocked Him, they took the purple off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him out to crucify Him.

The King on a Cross

21 Then they compelled a certain man, Simon a Cyrenian, the father of Alexander and Rufus, as he was coming out of the country and passing by, to bear His cross. 22 And they brought Him to the place Golgotha, which is translated, Place of a Skull. 23 Then they gave Him wine mingled with myrrh to drink, but He did not take it. 24 And when they crucified Him, they divided His garments, casting lots for them to determine what every man should take.
25 Now it was the third hour, and they crucified Him. 26 And the inscription of His accusation was written above:
THE KING OF THE JEWS.

27 With Him they also crucified two robbers, one on His right and the other on His left. 28 So the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And He was numbered with the transgressors.”
29 And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads and saying, “Aha! You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, 30 save Yourself, and come down from the cross!”
31 Likewise the chief priests also, mocking among themselves with the scribes, said, “He saved others; Himself He cannot save. 32 Let the Christ, the King of Israel, descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe.”
Even those who were crucified with Him reviled Him.

Jesus Dies on the Cross

The Passion Week of Christ - Day ( 6 )

This is day ( 6 ) of the typical Passion Week.

Thursday- Preparations for the Passover took place on this day. Jesus gives His Upper Room discourses and then goes to pray in the Garden of Gethsemane (Matt. 26:17-46, Mark 14:12-42, John 13-17).

Matthew 26:17-46
Jesus Celebrates Passover with His Disciples

17 Now on the first day of the Feast of the Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying to Him, “Where do You want us to prepare for You to eat the Passover?”
18 And He said, “Go into the city to a certain man, and say to him, ‘The Teacher says, “My time is at hand; I will keep the Passover at your house with My disciples.”’”
19 So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them; and they prepared the Passover.
20 When evening had come, He sat down with the twelve. 21 Now as they were eating, He said, “Assuredly, I say to you, one of you will betray Me.”
22 And they were exceedingly sorrowful, and each of them began to say to Him, “Lord, is it I?”
23 He answered and said, “He who dipped his hand with Me in the dish will betray Me. 24 The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born.”
25 Then Judas, who was betraying Him, answered and said, “Rabbi, is it I?”
He said to him, “You have said it.”

Jesus Institutes the Lord’s Supper

26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.”
27 Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. 29 But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.”
30 And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial

31 Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written:
‘ I will strike the Shepherd,
And the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’[
32 But after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee.”
33 Peter answered and said to Him, “Even if all are made to stumble because of You, I will never be made to stumble.”
34 Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you that this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.”
35 Peter said to Him, “Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!”
And so said all the disciples.

The Prayer in the Garden

36 Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go and pray over there.” 37 And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. 38 Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.”
39 He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”
40 Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour? 41 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
42 Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.” 43 And He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy.
44 So He left them, went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. 45 Then He came to His disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. 46 Rise, let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand.”

Mark 14:12-42
Jesus Celebrates the Passover with His Disciples

12 Now on the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they killed the Passover lamb, His disciples said to Him, “Where do You want us to go and prepare, that You may eat the Passover?”
13 And He sent out two of His disciples and said to them, “Go into the city, and a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him. 14 Wherever he goes in, say to the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says, “Where is the guest room in which I may eat the Passover with My disciples?”’ 15 Then he will show you a large upper room, furnished and prepared; there make ready for us.”
16 So His disciples went out, and came into the city, and found it just as He had said to them; and they prepared the Passover.
17 In the evening He came with the twelve. 18 Now as they sat and ate, Jesus said, “Assuredly, I say to you, one of you who eats with Me will betray Me.”
19 And they began to be sorrowful, and to say to Him one by one, “Is it I?” And another said, “Is it I?”
20 He answered and said to them, “It is one of the twelve, who dips with Me in the dish. 21 The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had never been born.”

Jesus Institutes the Lord’s Supper

37 Then He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “Simon, are you sleeping? Could you not watch one hour? 38 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
39 Again He went away and prayed, and spoke the same words. 40 And when He returned, He found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy; and they did not know what to answer Him.
41 Then He came the third time and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? It is enough! The hour has come; behold, the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. 42 Rise, let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand.”

John 13:17
17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

The Passion Week of Christ - Day ( 5 )

This is day ( 5 ) of the typical Passion Week.

Wednesday- Some believe that Jesus was actually crucified on Wednesday, however, the majority believe that He was crucified on Friday. If this is the case, Wednesday is known as "Silent Wednesday" and Jesus presumably stayed in Bethany. It is also believed that this was the day Judas made arrangements to betray Jesus (Matt. 26:14-16, Mark 14:10-11).

Monday- Jesus curses the fig tree on His way to Jerusalem, cleanses the temple, and returns to Bethany again (Mark 11:12-19, Matt. 21:12-22).

The Fig Tree Withered

12 Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. 13 And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. 14 In response Jesus said to it, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again.”
And His disciples heard it.
Jesus Cleanses the Temple

15 So they came to Jerusalem. Then Jesus went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. 16 And He would not allow anyone to carry wares through the temple. 17 Then He taught, saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations’? The Fig Tree Withered

Sunday- Triumphal Entry (Jesus comes into Jerusalem on a donkey. People lay their coats and palm branches in the path and cry out "Hosannah in the highest!"). Jesus surveys the Temple and returns to Bethany (Matt. 21:1-9, John 12:12-18, Mark 11:11)

Matthew 21:1-9

The Triumphal Entry

1 Now when they drew near Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, 2 saying to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Loose them and bring them to Me. 3 And if anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord has need of them,’ and immediately he will send them.” 4 All[b] this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: 5 “ Tell the daughter of Zion, ‘ Behold, your King is coming to you, Lowly, and sitting on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.’” 6 So the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them. 7 They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their clothes on them, and set Him[d] on them. 8 And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: “ Hosanna to the Son of David! ‘ Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’ Hosanna in the highest!”

The Passion Week of Christ – Day ( 1 )

The word passion actually means 'to suffer', so the passion of Christ is talking about the suffering of Christ. What Jesus went through cannot be overstated. He died on the cross for the sins of many (Is.53:11).

Isaiah 51:11

11 So the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with singing, with everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness; Sorrow and sighing shall flee away. As Easter approaches and our minds are drawn to Easter egg hunts, dyeing eggs, and giving out candy, let's take some time to consider the true purpose of Christ's death and resurrection: To provide eternal salvation for all those who would call upon Him (Romans 10:9,13). Romans 10:9-13 9 That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

This is day ( 1 ) of the typical Passion Week.

Saturday- There was an evening celebration in Bethany (about 6 miles from Jerusalem). This is the time when Mary (Martha's sister) anointed Jesus (Matthew 26:6-13, John 12:2-8).

The Anointing at Bethany 6 And when Jesus was in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper, 7 a woman came to Him having an alabaster flask of very costly fragrant oil, and she poured it on His head as He sat at the table. 8 But when His disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste? 9 For this fragrant oil might have been sold for much and given to the poor.” 10 But when Jesus was aware of it, He said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a good work for Me. 11 For you have the poor with you always, but Me you do not have always. 12 For in pouring this fragrant oil on My body, she did it for My burial. 13 Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her.”

John 12:2-8

2 There they made Him a supper; and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with Him. 3 Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil. 4 But one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, who would betray Him, said, 5 “Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?” 6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it. 7 But Jesus said, “Let her alone; she has kept this for the day of My burial. 8 For the poor you have with you always, but Me you do not have always.”

For the next few days leading to Easter we shall be revisiting all the events that took place in the Passion Week. We will be gathering events from different Gospels as reported by Matthew, Luke, Mark and John. This will help us to comprehend what our Lord Jesus had to go through in order to save us. I figured if He had to go through all that pain and suffering for us, the least we can do is take some time to read and meditate upon them. I have always found it difficult to keep track of the events that happened during the last week of Jesus' life here on earth. With all of the different meetings, acts of Jesus, and trials, it is hard to keep it all straight. Since it is the time of year in which we celebrate Jesus' death and resurrection, it is good for us to see all of the events in order, so that we can truly meditate on all that Jesus experienced prior to the crucifixion. Starting tomorrow, we will begin this journey

Canadian National Anthem - With Or Wihout GOD

If you agree, let's hear from you. If you don't, simply mention "WHY NOT".
By me POSTING it, you know how I feel.

I bet the response came as a big surprise to CBC to the question:

Do you believe that the word God should stay in Canadian culture?

CBC this morning had a poll on this question.
They had the highest number of responses that they have ever had for one of their polls, and the percentage was the same as this:
86% to keep the words “ God Keep our Land” in the National Anthem 14% against

That is a pretty 'commanding' public response.
I was asked to share this if I agreed or ignore if I didn't ..
Now it is your turn.
It is said that 86% of Canadians believe the word “God” should stay, therefore, I have a very hard time understanding why there is such a mess about having the word “God” in the anthem!

Why is the country catering to this 14%?

AMEN!

Taking time to help others is one of the

most important things you can do in life.

By doing so, the Lord will help to spread goodness.

The Lord will not miss what we do for others,

be it large or small.

His eyes never sleep and one day we shall be rewarded

for all the good things we do.

You never lose anything by giving.

Even if it seems so in the beginning,

even if you do not see any results,

even if you can not see the fruits of your labour on this earth,

YOU SHALL RECEIVE YOUR REWARDS IN HEAVEN

GUARANTEED.

We are a spiritual beings not only flesh and blood.
"The spirit of man will sustain him in sickness,

but who can bear a broken spirit" (proverb 8:14)

Your spirit is what makes you go on. It will carry you through.

It will give you incentive to move your body.

If you deprive it from it's daily spiritual food,

it will affect your physical body.

If the spirit is strengthened, your body will be strengthened too.

You will be inspired....

You will be content at the end ....

At the end of your day,,when you lay down,,

focus your mind on the Lord,

He will take care of everything you are thinking of,,,

and He will make you sleep peaceful and wake up refreshed.

You will receive the strength to carry on.

سلة الفحم

كان هناك رجل متدين يعيش في مزرعة مع حفيده الصغير
وكان الجد يصحو كل يوم في الصباح الباكر ليجلس و يقرأ الكتاب المقدس
وكان حفيده يتمنى أن يصبح مثله في كل شيء
. لذا فقد كان حريصا على أن يقلده في كل حركة يفعلها وذات يوم سأل الحفيد جده
... يا جدي،إنني أحاول أن أقرأ الكتاب المقدس مثلما تفعل
، ولكنني كلما حاولت أن أقرأه أجد إنني لا أفهم كثيراً منه
، وإذا فهمت منه شيئاً فإنني أنسى ما فهمته بمجرد أن أغلق الكتاب المقدس
" فما فائدة قراءة الكتاب المقدس إذن؟
!!!!! كان الجد يضع بعض الفحم في المدفأة ، فتلفت بهدوء وترك ما بيده، ثم قال
.. خُذ سلة الفحم الخالية هذه ، واذهب بها إلى النهر ، ثم ائتِني بها مليئة بالماء
!!! ففعل الولد كما طلب منه جده، ولكنه فوجئ بالماء كله يتسرب من السلة قبل أن يصل إلى البيت
، فابتسم الجد قائلاً له: " ينبغي عليك أن تُسرع إلى البيت في المرة القادمة يا بُني"
!!!! فعاود الحفيد الكرَّة،وحاول أن يجري إلى البيت ... ولكن الماء تسرب أيضاً في هذه المرة
!!! فغضب الولد وقال لجده،إنه من المستحيل أن آتيك بسلة من الماء
، والآن سأذهب وأحضر الدلو لكي أملؤه لك ماءً .
فقال الجد: " لا ، أنا لم أطلب منك دلواً من الماء، أنا طلبت سلة من الماء
...يبدو أنك لم تبذل جهدا ًكافياً يا ولدي
"!!!! ثم خرج الجد مع حفيده ليُشرف بنفسه على تنفيذ عملية ملء السلة بالماء
!!! كان الحفيد موقناً بأنها عملية مستحيلة؛ ولكنه أراد أن يُري جده بالتجربة العملية
،فملأ السلة ماء ،ثم جرى بأقصى سرعة إلى جده ليريه ، وهو يلهث قائلا ً أرأيت؟ لا فائدة
!!! فنظر الجد إليه قائلا ً: " أتظن أنه لا فائدة مما فعلت......؟"
!!!! تعال وانظر إلى السلة " ، فنظر الولد إلى السلة ، وأدرك –للمرة الأولى أنها أصبحت مختلفة
!!!! لقد تحولت السلة المتسخة بسبب الفحم إلى سلة نظيفة تماما ً من الخارج والداخل
!!! فلما رأى الجد الولد مندهشاً ،
قال له : "هذا بالضبط ما يحدث عندما تقرأ الكتاب المقدس
..... قد لا تفهم بعضه، وقد تنسى ما فهمت أو حفظت من آياته
..... ولكنك حين تقرؤه سوف تتغيرللأفضل من الداخل والخارج ، تماما ًمثل هذه السلة

Remember The DUCK????
There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm.
And he was given a slingshot to play without in the woods.
He practiced in the woods but he could never hit the target.
And getting a little discouraged; he headed back to dinner.
As he was walking back he saw Grandma’s pet duck.
Just out of impulse, he let it fly, hit the duck square in the head, and killed it.
He was shocked and grieved.
In a panic, he hid the dead duck in the wood pile,only to see his sister watching.
Sally had seen it all, but she said nothing.
After lunch that day grandma said, "Sally, let’s wash the dishes."
But Sally said, "Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in the kitchen today, didn’t you Johnny?"
And then she whispered to him, "Remember, the duck?"
So Johnny did the dishes.
Later, Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing, and Grandma said, "I’m sorry but I need Sally to help make supper."
But Sally smiled and said,"Well, that’s all right, because Johnny told me he wanted to help." And she whispered again, "Remember,the duck?"
So Sally went fishing and Johnny stayed.
After several days of Johnny doing both his chores and Sally’s, he finally couldn’t stand it any longer.
He came to Grandma and confessed that he killed the duck.
She knelt down, gave him a hug, and said, "Sweetheart,I know.
You see, I was standing at the window and I saw the whole thing.
But because I love you, I forgave you.
But I was just wondering how long you would let Sally make a slave of you."

I don’t know what’s in your past. I don’t know what one sin the enemy keeps throwing up in your face. But whatever it is, I want you to know something.The Lord Jesus Christ was standing at the window. And He saw the whole thing. But because He loves you, He has forgiven you. Perhaps He’s wondering how long you’ll let the enemy make a slave out of you. The great thing about God is that He not only forgives, but He forgets. Have a blessed day!:)

What is going to happen NEXT!! Are we safe!! Well who knows.

All I am going to say is that at the start of a new year, we all need God more than ever before. We need to turn to Him in prayer and support. We need to be encouraged by the Word of God to keep on keeping on in this life. Do not assume that this life is eternal. IT IS NOT.

This is a fight that we can not win on our own. God is available 24/7 to listen and answer prayers. Please remember that.

My prayer for you is:
May today be all you need it to be. May the peace of God and the freshness of the Holy Spirit rest in your thoughts, rule in your dreams tonight, and conquer all your fears. May God manifest himself today in ways you have never experienced. May your joys be fulfilled, your dreams be closer, and your prayers be answered. I pray that faith enters a new height for you; I pray that your territory is enlarged. I pray for peace, healing, health, happiness, prosperity, joy, true and undying love for God.

1. Drink plenty of water.

2. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.

3. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.

4. Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.

5. Make time to practice meditation and prayer.

6. Play more games.

7. Read more books than you did in 2008.

8. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.

9. Sleep for 7 hours. (or more)

10. Take a 10-30 minutes walk every day.. And while you walk, smile. .

11. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

Father's Love

I have heard this story before, but I tell you it never impacted me as much as seeing this video. Wow.

Who or what give us the strength to make difficult decisions??

Can we as humans imagine that this kind of love exists?

Perhaps not with us, but surely with God it does.

This posting is done for the single reason which is to help those who are looking forward to celebrate the fake and unholy "holiday" called "Halloween"

Please read the article bellow and then be the judge whether this is something you want your family to partake in or not.

Let me add here: If parents spend the same time to bring their children to Christ as much as they do to dress them up in scary costumes and to take them around to collect candies, I believe we would see a totally different generation of people who would be blessed and not cursed.

The Danger of Celebrating Halloween

Halloween—October 31—is considered a holiday in the United States. In fact, it rivals Christmas with regard to how widely celebrated it is. Stores that sell only Halloween-related paraphernalia open up a few months before the day and close shortly after it ends.

But is Halloween a holiday that Christians should be observing?

The word "holiday" means "holy day." But there is nothing holy about Halloween.

The root word of Halloween is "hallow," which means "holy, consecrated and set apart for service." If this holiday is hallowed, whose service is it set apart for?

The answer to that question is very easy—Lucifer's!

Lucifer is a part of the demonic godhead.

Remember, everything God has, the devil has a counterfeit.

Halloween is a counterfeit holy day that is dedicated to celebrating the demonic trinity of : the Luciferian Spirit (the false father); the Antichrist Spirit (the false holy spirit); and the Spirit of Belial (the false son).

The key word in discussing Halloween is "dedicated." It is dedicated to darkness and is an accursed season. During Halloween, time-released curses are always loosed.

A time-released curse is a period that has been set aside to release demonic activity and to ensnare souls in great measure.

You may ask, "Doesn't God have more power than the devil?" Yes, but He has given that power to us. If we do not walk in it, we will become the devil's prey.

Witchcraft works through dirty hearts and wrong spirits.During this period demons are assigned against those who participate in the rituals and festivities. These demons are automatically drawn to the fetishes that open doors for them to come into the lives of human beings.

For example, most of the candy sold during this season has been dedicated and prayed over by witches.

Even the colors of Halloween (orange, brown and dark red) are dedicated. These colors are connected to the fall equinox, which is around the 20th or 21st of September each year and is sometimes called "Mabon."

During this season witches are celebrating the changing of the seasons from summer to fall. They give praise to the gods for the demonic harvest.

They pray to the gods of the elements (air, fire, water and earth).Mother earth is highly celebrated during the fall demonic harvest.

Witches praise mother earth by bringing her fruits, nuts and herbs. Demons are loosed during these acts of worship. When nice church folk lay out their pumpkins on the church lawn, fill their baskets with nuts and herbs, and fire up their bonfires, the demons get busy.

They have no respect for the church grounds. They respect only the sacrifice and do not care if it comes from believers or non-believers.

Gathering around bonfires is a common practice in pagan worship. As I remember, the bonfires that I attended during homecoming week when I was in high school were always in the fall. I am amazed at how we ignorantly participate in pagan, occult rituals.

The gods of harvest that the witches worship during their fall festivals are the Corn King and the Harvest Lord. The devil is too stupid to understand that Jesus is the Lord of the Harvest 365 days a year.

But we cannot be ignorant of the devices of the enemy. When we pray, we bind the powers of the strong men that people involved in the occult worship.Halloween is much more than a holiday filled with fun and tricks or treats.

It is a time for the gathering of evil that masquerades behind the fictitious characters of Dracula, werewolves, mummies and witches on brooms.

The truth is that these demons that have been presented as scary cartoons actually exist. I have prayed for witches who are addicted to drinking blood and howling at the moon.

While the lukewarm and ignorant think of these customs as "just harmless fun," the vortexes of hell are releasing new assignments against souls.

Witches take pride in laughing at the ignorance of natural men (those who ignore the spirit realm).

Decorating buildings with Halloween scenes, dressing up for parties, going door-to-door for candy, standing around bonfires and highlighting pumpkin patches are all acts rooted in entertaining familiar spirits.

All these activities are demonic and have occult roots.The word "occult" means "secret." The danger of Halloween is not in the scary things we see but in the secret, wicked, cruel activities that go on behind the scenes.

These activities include:Sex with demons Orgies between animals and humans Animal and human sacrifices Sacrificing babies to shed innocent blood Rape and molestation of adults, children and babies Revel nights Conjuring of demons and casting of spells Release of "time-released" curses against the innocent and the ignorant.

Another abomination that goes on behind the scenes of Halloween is necromancy, or communication with the dead. Séances and contacting spirit guides are very popular on Halloween, so there is a lot of darkness lurking in the air.

However, Ephesians 1:19-21 speaks of the authority of the believer and the exceeding greatness of God's power in us (the same power that raised Christ from the dead).

It goes on to say that that Jesus is seated in heavenly places far above all principalities, power, might, dominions and every name that is named.

The good news is that because we are seated in heavenly places with Jesus, the same demonic activity that is under His feet is under our feet, too!

People who worship the devil continue to attempt to lift him up. But he has already been cast out and down! Many are blinded to this fact, but the day will come when all will know he has been defeated once and for all.

When we accept Jesus but refuse to renounce Satan and his practices, we are neither hot nor cold but lukewarm—and the Word says that God will spit us out of His mouth.

The problem with lukewarm is that it attempts to mix the things of the devil with the things of God.

It is God's desire that we serve Him alone.Second Corinthians 6:15 asks the question, "And what agreement has Christ with Belial?" As believers, we need to answer that question in our hearts. We must avoid the very appearance of evil.

I would not want a demon spirit to mistake me for an occult worshiper.There is no doubt in my heart that God is not calling us to replace fall festivals and Halloween activities; rather, He wants us to utterly destroy the deeds of this season.

If you or your family members have opened the door to any curses that are released during the demonic fall festivals, renounce them and repent. I already have. Then declare with me: "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!"

I’ve heard of many heroes of ancient times,
of their courage, endurance, of their endless love.
No matter how their journey began,
God’s blessing was upon them, sent from Heaven above.
To a man, a woman, even to a child,
God had a plan; His will would be fulfilled.
Valleys, hills and dismal nights,
sweats and tears, all would be experienced.
Lessons learned for all times,
obedience and faith were always required.

I may understand, or perhaps not,
those many heroes of ancient times.
But one thing for sure I can understand,
this hero of mine, of my own time.
I may call you MOM; I may call your name,
I may not call you at all, but my heart whispers: “You are mine”.

This morning I have received an email from a family member (supposedly). This is the content of the email. Actually, this message was sent out to many people (group email.):

Hi, How are you doing today? I am sorry i didn't inform you about my traveling to UK, but It has been a very sad and bad moment for me over here and the present condition that i found myself is very hard for me to explain, am really stranded in UK because i forgot my little bag in the Taxi where my money, documents and other valuable things were kept on my way to the Hotel am staying, I am facing a hard time here because i have no money on me to clear my Hotel bill, you are the only person i could reach at this point, i already spoke to the embassy here but they are not responding to the matter effectively. I have limited access to emails for now because i dont have money to go online here, i need you to help me out with a sum of $1,450 or any amount you can afford for now so i can pay the hotel bills, I need this help so much and on time because i am in a terrible and tight situation here, I don't even have money to feed myself for a day which means i had been starving so please understand how terrible it is. You can only imagine my distress to know that my relative, who by the way is in his seventies, was in trouble and needed our help. I made some calls only to finally discover that my relative was here in town and he was safe. Apparently some hacker got a hold of his email contact list and started sending the same messages to everyone in order to defraud them of money.
According to the authorities this situation has been happening in an alarming degree.

In my previous posting I have quoted the idea of “Living for a life time, or living FOREVER” concept. I have stated that if someone lives his life doing things passionately, as well as pouring his/her heart and soul into their creation, it is as if a piece of them goes on living forever. They become somehow immortal and their memory lives on for many generations to come.
Here is a real great example for such amazing passion if I ever saw one. Check this story out and then be the judge yourself.

Here is the story of this amazing person
This retired farmer is probably wondering why he is a retired farmer and not a retired architect. A retired farmer has spent more than 30 years building an enormous scale model of a Biblical temple.

Alec Garrard, 78, has dedicated a massive 33,000 hours to constructing the ancient Herod's Temple, which measures a whopping 20ft by 12ft. The pensioner has hand-baked and painted every clay brick and tile and even sculpted 4,000 tiny human figures to populate the courtyards.

Historical experts believe the model is the best representation in the world of what the Jewish temple actually looked like and it has attracted thousands of visitors from all over the globe.

But Mr Garrard, who started the elaborate project in his 40's, says his masterpiece will not be finished in his lifetime.

"I've always loved making models and as I was getting older I started to think about making one big project which would see me through to the end of my life," he said.

"I have an interest in buildings and religion so I thought maybe I could combine the two and I came up with the idea of doing the Temple .

"I'd seen one or two examples of it in Biblical exhibitions, but I thought they were rubbish and I knew I could do better.

"I have been working on it for decades but it will never be finished as I'm always finding something new to add."

Mr Garrard, from Norfolk, spent more than three years researching the Temple, which was destroyed by the Romans 2000 years ago and deemed to be one of the most remarkable buildings of ancient times.

He then started to construct the amazing 1:100 scale model, which is now housed in a huge building in his back garden.

"Everything is made by hand. I cut plywood frames for the walls and buildings and all the clay bricks and tiles were baked in the oven then stuck together," he said.

Mr Garrard sculpted and painted 4,000 figures, measuring just half an inch and all wearing their correct costumes including 32 versions of Jesus.There are 32 versions of Jesus, although no one can ever spot him no matter how religious they are"

Visitors come from all over the world to see the model and Mr Garrard provides binoculars so they can see all the details.
"I personally know all the top archaeologists from Jerusalem and I've had experts from the British Museum visit," he says.

In my exhibit, when Jesus chases the money-changers out of the temple...
I've had a lot of offers from people to buy it, but it's not for sale.

The Temple was probably located on the site of what is the Dome of the Rock today.

Today, July 7, 2009, the whole world witnessed a very moving memorial for the late Michael Jackson. It was enormous and the outpouring of love from all who shared in it was also as such. Previously, I have written a couple of articles about this man’s super stardom and how he was idolized by so many. I, of course, did not share in that for the simple truth that no single human being should be idolized regardless of his achievements.

After watching the amazing production, I saw how this man has impacted the world in much more ways than it was apparent to the public. He truly gave his all, whether it was through his musical creations or his humanitarian works or just even as a father. He did put his heart and soul into everything. That is why he left a lasting mark on everyone, young or old for generations to come.

I am not saying that Michael Jackson was perfect. Who is?? He simply was a human being with human tendencies for doing right and wrong as we all are.

One thing caught my attention was when Michael Jackson quoted Michael Angelo saying: (I know the creator will die but his works live on. To attain immortality, you must attach your soul to your creation to escape death).

Wow, this is something else. I never thought that there was anyone alive who thought of being immortal. To live forever would have been the thoughts of crazy people who dreamed the impossible. But you know what, I can honestly say now that this was totally possible. For if any person would do anything with all of his heart and soul a part of him would actually attach to the creation he does and therefore as long as his creation would last it means that the person himself could lasts forever.

Every person alive can achieve immortality in a sense by being true to our calling in life. God has given each one of us a talent, be it small or large. We are to be as faithful to it and must work as hard as possible and from all of our hearts to accomplish the given tasks.

You might be a single person who has no family, you might be a parent, or you might be an aged person right now. Regardless who you are, simply do what you need to do with all your heart and soul and be faithful. Through that you shall live forever in your works, in the hearts of those around you, those who God has placed in your life for whatever reason.

One more thing I would like to add here. Anderson Cooper from CNN said a very interesting quote that caught my attention too. He, being a person who lost his father at the age of 9, said: (A fatherless child thinks all things are possible, but nothing is safe). I am here to tell you that if you have faith in Jesus Christ, even if you might have no earthly father, you do have a Heavenly Father. With Him you are safe. He is always there willing and more that able to help you follow your dreams, to guide you through every step you take, and be with you through the valleys and hills of this life until your spirit join Him in Heaven.

Make your life count. Live a life time, but make it count FOREVER.

A couple of days ago I posted an article about the "Death of Michael Jackson - Worshiping An Idol." Now I was not planning on re-visiting the topic for I think I made my views very well known on the subject.

However, today I saw this image and I tell you I honestly felt sick to my stomach. With all due respect to the memory of this great singer, his family and his children, but come one folks, resembling a human being to God!! Wow, I am utterly flabbergasted, not to mention floored by how someone is devoid of common sense to just imagine and create something like this.
I could say much more, but you know what? I am going to only conclude and say:
LEAVE THE MAN TO REST IN PEACE. HE IS NOT EVEN BURIED YET.

But to resemble him to a Lord, or even an Angel!! This is utterly ridiculous. Believe me no one is as such. We are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God.
Stop worshiping any human regardless how talented he is.

NO ONE SHOULD BE LABELED AS AN IDOL. NO ONE IS.

YOU ARE ONLY TO WORSHIP AND IDOLIZE GOD AND NO ONE ELSE.

One final note I would like to add. Granted that this man has offered a unique style and much for the music world, not to mention broke many cultural and racial barriers, but must the whole world stop because of his passing??. Look how CNN and most major television news channels have halted all world news just to present updates on Michael's situation. What about the world economy, political unrest, wars, hunger, natural disasters and much much more?? ALL BECAUSE THE PEOPLE WANT TO FOLLOW THEIR IDOL. Give me a break.

Within few hours and on the same day of Farrah Fawcett’s death, came other major news of the loss of another famous singer, Michael Jackson. I normally do not follow celebrities or their life issues. But today I decided to add my two cents in it.

I was watching on television the outpouring of people at the UCLA Hospital in LA to pay their respects to their beloved IDOL. Consequently, all other main cities in the United States not to mention the whole world followed suit.

Now I am saddened that a person who contributed a lot to the music world would die at an early age and in such a sudden way, but I am going to be honest here and say, I am more saddened to see how the world are willing and able to worship another human being in such a manner. I am not against enjoying music, and I do appreciate the singers’ talents, but in no shape or form must anyone consider another an IDOL or worship them as I have seen many are doing.

The only One to be worshiped in such devotion is God himself. Why do we choose to ignore all His contributions, talents, gifts, and sacrifices and walk by all of that as if He does not even exist?
Could we please at least take a few moments and think about this, perhaps even as long as it takes to download a song or a music album of a famous idol?????

Rest in peace Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett. I offer my condolences to both of your families particularly to your children.

May God have mercy on all of us.

She Lost The Fight But Hopefully Not The Cause

Today came the news of the death of Farrah Fawcett, age 62. She lost her battle to anal cancer after a lengthy struggle. Previously I have posted a couple of articles about her, particularly about her mission to bring awareness to the lack of alternative treatments in the United States. She had to travel to Germany to receive treatments, which obviously was extremely hard on her family and herself.
She also has presented a documentary journal of her illness. Her courage in facing every step she had to take was quite apparent. I was very touched by her and her attempt to bring awareness to the desperate medical need.
I am very dismayed to know that one of the most powerful countries in the world lacks the capability to provide appropriate medical care for it's own citizen.
Please join me in offering condolences to her family as well as keep her mission alive.

The Creator In His creation

I would like to share with you this most interesting encounter that I had today. My sister and I were taking a stroll by the beach. We came across a very unique set of stone collection. They were placed in such outstanding designs. Each one was totally different, but they all were built to defy gravity. Every stone was mounting another in a way you almost were afraid that the wind might blow and the whole artistic creation might topple over. But guess what!! None of them did.

I observed this amazing collection for few moments and then my attention turned away to look for the creator of such magnificence. I saw him sitting under a tree practicing on a wooden pole. You can instinctively tell that this man is quite as unique as his creation.

We approached him and talked to him for a while. I personally was impressed with his deep awareness and in particular of the awesomeness of the Creator. I asked him what would happen to his beautiful art collection when he leaves. He said, it did not matter to him. He expressed his God given talent by allowing God’s greatness to flow through him to bless the world. Even if someone would come and destroy what he built, it would still be OK, for that person would have found something to relieve his anger and making himself feel better.

I was quite taken by his words for normally humans are quite possessive of their own work and would be insulted and hurt if someone undermines their greatness. However, not this man. Everything he does he considers as a gift from God to be given out to the world. Even when he recited a beautiful poem I asked him if it was his own writing. His answer was “it was a gift” and he pointed to the heavens.

Once I read in the Bible about when Jesus said that if people would not speak of Him and His works the stones would. I did not really understand that then. How could stones speak of anything?? But today I got exactly what it meant. I saw the stones speak of the awesomeness of the Creator. God used His own creation, a normal man, to show the world what we humans can create if we set our minds to it. For God’s spirit lives in us. We are created in His own image. We are capable to use simple and discarded stones to create a great works of unique art.

My sister and I kept on walking and after a couple of hours we returned to the same spot again. Guess what!! The man was gone. The stone art collection was toppled over. Kids were playing with them. There even was a dog that was peeing on some of them. I personally was sad to see that. However I am certain that the person who created this great show would not have been upset. He even might have known that would happen, but he would not have cared. He did his part. He shared his message with the world.

What about you? Are you willing to share with the world your particular God given talent? Do you feel satisfied that you have fulfilled your purpose in life? If not, why not examine your inner being and search your heart to find out the reason God has created you to participate in.Finally, I also want to add this note. When we said goodbye to this gentleman and his friend, he said something very interesting. He wished us both a “NICE JOURNEY”.

I knew exactly what he meant by that.I wish you also a nice journey in this life, until you reach heaven and end up in the presence of our Beloved Lord.

There is hardly a person anywhere in the world that is left that does not know about the seriousness of environmental problems. We are encouraged to recycle, go green and even the new law right now is to pay $.05 for every single bag we purchase from any retail store. I am all for this. We all must do our best to reduce, reuse and recycle. But my concern is on how we bring attention to this serious issue.

Some cyclists in Montreal, Canada took it upon themselves to do as such by riding their bicycles in the nude. They think their action is going to bring so much attention to this grave problem by baring their behinds in public.

GREAT SOLUTION; DON’T YOU THINK!!!

They want to clean the earth of its garbage by displaying new moral garbage. And watch this spread all over the world because people are so hungry for attention that they are willing to do anything to be in the spot light. Meanwhile, they are claiming that they are doing it for the good of our mother earth. Give me a break.

There is a story in the Bible where the Pharisees complained to Jesus about his Disciples when they did not clean their hands before they ate their meals. He told them that it does not matter what goes in the body but what matters is what comes out of the heart. This means that our thoughts, our hearts and our morals matter more than our surroundings.

I also love clean environment and do my best to keep it clean for the sake our children in the future. But to solve a garbage problem by creating a moral one is totally outrageous. This is like teaching our children to clean their rooms, but let watch x-rated movies and participate in wild activities like drugs, open sex relations, and Internet dating.

Real Life Struggles !!!
If there is a time that we are truly struggling in, this is it. Can you say otherwise!!!
He knows what is inside you.
You maybe sick, lonely, worried, or scared, but in front of people you maybe smiling and pretending to hold on.
People may see you laughing and think you are content, but they don't know of your sadness and worries, of your hurting and broken heart.
You may eat all you desire and what satisfies your body, but after that you still feel the sadness, the emptiness and dissatisfaction inside you.
You maybe rich and people may thing that you have it all.
You may go to the end of the earth to secure your future, and others may envy your accomplishments, but they do not know that inside you there is something missing which is more important than anything you have ever achieved.
They do not know that inside you there is a cry for true security and peace of mind, the things that all the money in the world would not be able to provide.
You maybe a religious person who fasts, and people see you in churches, but they don't know that inside there is something missing. It is that voice that stays with you lovingly whispering:
I WANT TO COME IN AND EAT WITH YOU. YOU WILL NEVER HAVE PEACE UNLESS I COME IN.
No matter who you are, what you did or who you become, inside you there is that voice that follows you, pleads with you and never leaves you. This voice was with you from the day of your birth till now. This voice kindly, lovingly, patiently walks with you.
This stubborn voice never gave up when you ignored it, never got angry when you pushed it away. It stayed with you when you were awake and when you were asleep, calmly pleading, urging and hopefully whispering to you. A voice shouting: Don't run away from me. Don't keep away from me. I will never let you go. If you go to the end of the earth you will find me there, waiting for you, missing you, because I love you.

This is the voice of GOD, the voice of a FATHER who loves you very much and who knows everything about you and all that is inside you.

BELIEVE ME - JESUS KNOWS ALL THAT IS INSIDE YOU. SIMPLY INVITE HIM INTO YOUR HEART AND LET HIM HELP YOU. YOU WILL NEVER BE DISAPPOINTED.

None of us is immuned from life ultering situations. We can go from an easy, comfortable and carefree life into a nightmare in an instance. Only if we have faith, as Farrah portrays in the documentary, we can get strength from God to go on.
I hope and pray her mission would be acomplished and cancer can be beaten. May God help ease her pain now and give comfort to her family.

Please pray for her and her family. The Sad part is that She did not get to watch the documentary for she was too ill in the hospital. This is an articles posted in light of this recent Swine Flu scare.
I trust and pray that you all have been well, going on in this life with a positive attitude and hopeful spirits.

I want to share with you this saying that I heard from someone lately. It goes like this: NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, IF LIFE GOES ON HAPPINESS IS A POSSIBILITY. So, as long as we keep up the faith, hope and love no matter what comes our way we shall obtain that inner peace we all search for.

Here is a quote from the book of Treasury of Bible Illustration:This Too Shall Pass“What is your favorite Scripture?” someone once asked an elderly woman. “My favorite Scripture is, ‘… and it came to pass….” When asked why she chose this one she said, “Because it does not say, ‘… it came to stay….”

Everything is temporary. What will not be changed by the passing of time will be changed by the end of time. The biblical principle is that we are to look beyond any problem, suffering, and confusion of this time and look to the future reward. Paul said, “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us” (Rom. 8:18).
We can live with present problems because of their temporal nature. Why bother to fuss, fume and stew over something that will be gone sooner or later? Instead, concentrate all your energy on what you can influence, and attempt to make a better life for yourself and those in your circle of influence.

Trust in the Lord and not in your surroundings. As someone said once:
I DON'T KNOW WHAT TOMORROW HOLDS, BUT I SURE KNOW WHO HOLDS TOMORROW.

Recently I watched a mini-series about a young orphan girl who out of desperation grows up to be a lady of the night. Until one day, a kind young man met her and fell in love with her inner beauty, married her and gave her the family that she never had. But his family kept on finding just any excuse to condemn her and accuse her of returning to her past life.

Ok, this sounds boring not to mention a typical story that happens a lot. This is true. But the sad part here is that the majority of people continue to condemn and show ridicule to others even after the person has repented and changed his/her ways. It is like we have the right to stamp your forehead with the “SINNER” mark forgetting that none of us is free of sin.

Also, we sometimes find our selves in a situation where we feel so much guilt because of our own actions that we suffer continuously to the point of loosing our minds or at least our inner peace. This happens if our conscious is somewhat awakened to the truth, but if it is totally hardened due to continuous immorality, forget it, we will be so oblivious and out of touch to reality.

A psychiatrist once said that if patients in the mental hospitals realize that their sins can be forgiven, most of them will be cured immediately.

Condemnation comes in two types, the right type and the wrong one. If we do know the difference and are able to understand that, it would make such a huge impact on our lives. I have heard recently a sermon about this topic. The speaker said that we are all condemned because of the state of sin that we are born into not to mention the sins that we commit throughout our lives. But the great news is that if we are in Christ Jesus, the penalty for all of our sins has been paid for by His death on the cross. The trick here is when the Devil comes and accuses us and continues to imply that we are not forgiven, and we will be condemned to suffer eternal death.

This is totally false. Please do believe that all of your debts (past, present and future) have been forgiven through faith in Jesus Christ. Don’t live your life burdened with guilt. Don’t carry your own yoke. It is too heavy. There is a way out. Turn your face unto the LIGHT. You will never walk in darkness again. And please do remember in the process not to judge other, for no one knows the state of anyone’s heart except God.

Truth Or Tiramisu!!
This might seem as a strange title but please do continue to read to find the purpose of choosing it. As many of us are aware, people nowadays are bombarded with so much news media from all corners of the world, that no place is remote enough for us to get involved in their happenings.

Bad news, sad news, scary news all leaving us scrambling for cover. The most recent one is this “Swine Flu” scare. Before that there were “Bird Flu”, “West Nile Virus”, “SARS Virus”, “AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Diseases and many more types of bacterial infections, natural and man made disaster. What is next? Everyone is scared to travel, be with others, to trust strangers as well as those ones whom they are intimately close to.

But this is actually not how some of us view these happenings. They simply face life by burying their heads in the sand and only choose to listen to selective news and speeches from people who sugar coat the truth for them and leave them on such high, oblivious to their own surroundings. It is like they have a periodic slice of Tiramisu to feel good and who cares with the consequences.

For those who don’t know what Tiramisu is, (I actually doubt that there are many), please read this fabulous description of this sweet and heavenly desert written by someone who clearly loves it.

Tiramisu is a cool, refreshing Italian dessert that once tasted, leaves an indelible impression on you.
But that description just doesn't do it justice ...
I'll have to describe it for you in more graphic terms. Let's see now . . . for those of you who've never had it before, how would I describe it?
Well, first of all, think of a very light chocolate pudding. Very light. No, you've got to think lighter than that. Think more in the lines of mocha-flavored whipped cream.
Now add in a little bit of body. Not heaviness, but substance -- you know, the kind of fullness that rich foods feel like in your mouth. Except that it doesn't taste rich, and it doesn't stay in your mouth long enough to become cloying. It tastes, well, dreamy.
Then, imagine this very light almost-like-mocha-flavored-whipped-cream concoction on lady finger pastry soaked (no, more like "kissed") with strong espresso coffee. Got that? Light, creamy, smooth lady fingers, the rich aroma of strong coffee?
Okay, now add in just a slight bite on the tongue, and tantalizing hint of the liquor. Suddenly, you get a teeny explosion of chocolate on your tongue that disappears in a flash. Got all that? Good.
Now finally, imagine that you're dressed in gossamer. You have delicate white wings and are sitting on a fluffy cloud. You are experiencing the greatest dessert ecstasy of your life. You are in Heaven, and Heaven is in your mouth!

I bet you are floating on high and salivating and on your way to look for a piece of Tiramisu. You got to find the way to fly to Heaven!!. Right???

Back to the purpose of this articles. My friend, we can not live this life in fear of everything. Fear is not a healthy emotion if it exceeds it’s limits. The only healthy fear to have is the fear of God, which is the beginning of wisdom. Anything else is inspired and orchestrated by the Devil to make us confused. Yes there are disaster and diseases and wars. There are bad people who disappoint us and hurt us and can cause us severe emotional damage. But God’s Holy Spirit is always there for those who trust and rely on Him to guide and console them. The Holy Bible is full of God’s promises that cover all areas of our lives.

You must face life head on. Be courageous and not hide behind walls or man-made ideologies which ultimately lead you to destruction. You know what they say about “The Blind leading The Blind”. God’s Word and His Truth is readily available for you to help show you the Way and to give you the real heaven on earth Life in spite of any kind of difficulties. Jesus promised us not to leave us as orphans and to give us peace, His Peace, the kind that is not available in this harsh world. Think of this and search for this FACT without blinders on or without any other numbing agents or ideas.
So, how about this Real Good News for a change!!!!!

Why did Jesus fold the linen burial cloth after His resurrection?

I never noticed this....The Gospel of John (20:7) tells us that the napkin, which was placed over the face of Jesus, was not just thrown aside like the grave clothes.The Bible takes an entire verse to tell us that the napkin was neatly folded, and was placed at the head of that stony coffin.

Early Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the Tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance.

She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved.

She said, 'They have taken the Lord's body out of the Tomb, and I don't know where they have put him! 'Peter and the other disciple ran to the tomb to see. The other disciple outran Peter and got there first. He stooped and looked in and saw the linen cloth lying there, but he didn't go in.Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, while the cloth that had covered Jesus' head was folded up and lying to the side.

Was that important? Absolutely!

Is it really significant? Yes!

In order to understand the significance of the folded napkin, you have to understand a little bit about Hebrew tradition of that day. The folded napkin had to do with the Master and Servant, and every Jewish boy knew this tradition. When the servant set the dinner table for the master, he made sure that it was exactly the way the master wanted it. The table was furnished perfectly, and then the servant would wait, just out of sight, until the master had finished eating, and the servant would not dare touch that table, until the master was finished. Now if the master were done eating, he would rise from the table, wipe his fingers, his mouth, and clean his beard, and would wad up that napkin and toss it onto the table. The servant would then know to clear the table. For in those days, the wadded napkin meant, 'I'm done'.But if the master got up from the table, and folded his napkin, and laid it beside his plate, the servant would not dare touch the table, Because..........The folded napkin meant, 'I'm coming back!'

Loving Scars

THE LORD IS RISEN, HE IS RISEN INDEED

In the spirit of this most Blessed Season, EASTER, which recognizes the resurection of Our Beloved Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and the most amazing gift of sacrifice He has given to us, I would like to share with you this inspirational story sent to me by a very beautiful and special person, my darling sister.

Some years ago, on a hot summer day in South Florida , a little boy decided to go for a swim in the old swimming hole behind his house. In a hurry to dive into the cool water, he ran out the back door, leaving behind shoes, socks, and shirt as he went.
He flew into the water, not realizing that as he swam toward the middle of the lake, an alligator was swimming toward the shore. His father, working in the yard, saw the two as they got closer and closer together.
In utter fear, he ran toward the water, yelling to his son as loudly as he could. Hearing his voice,
the little boy became alarmed and made a U-turn to swim to his father.
It was too late. Just as he reached his father, the alligator reached him. >From the dock, the father grabbed his little boy by the arms just as the alligator snatched his legs...
That began an incredible tug-of-war between the two. The alligator was much stronger than the father, but the father was much too passionate to let go. A farmer happened to drive by, heard his screams, raced from his truck, took aim and shot the alligator. Remarkably, after weeks and weeks in the hospital, the little boy survived.
His legs were extremely scarred by the vicious attack of the animal. And, on his arms, were deep scratches where his father's fingernails dug into his flesh in his effort to hang on to the son he loved. The newspaper reporter who interviewed the boy after the trauma, asked if he would show him his scars.
The boy lifted his pant legs. And then, with obvious pride, he said to the reporter,

'But look at my arms. I have great scars on my arms, too. I have them because my Dad wouldn't let go.'

You and I can identify with that little boy.

We have scars, too. No, not from an alligator, but the scars of a painful past. Some of those scars are unsightly and have caused us deep regret.

But, some wounds, my friend, are because God has refused to let go. In the midst of your struggle, He's been there holding on to you... The Scripture teaches that God loves you.
You are a child of God. He wants to protect you and provide for you in every way. But sometimes we foolishly wade into dangerous situations, not knowing what lies ahead. The swimming hole of life is filled with peril - and we forget that the enemy is waiting to attack.
That's when the tug-of-war begins - and if you have the scars of His love on your arms, be very, very grateful.
He did not and will not ever let you go.

God has blessed you, so that you can be a blessing to others.

You just never know where a person is in his/her life and what they are going through.

Never judge another person's scars,
because you don't know how they got them...
Also, it is so important that we are not selfish, to receive the blessings of these messages, without sharing them with someone else.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I speak to the receptor cells in this body. I command them to become more sensitive and less resistant to the effects of insulin, allowing glucose to enter my body cells, supply energy, and perform the other functions of glucose. Father in the name of Jesus, I speak to the beta cells of my pancreas and command them to secrete adequate and normal amounts of insulin. I believe, Father that my blood sugar levels will drop and my arteries, nerves, and eyes will be protected from destruction caused by high blood sugar levels. Father, I ask you to help me do my part by maintaining my normal weight and eating the proper foods as I avoid simple carbohydrates and consume more fiber.
Father, reveal to me all of the things in the natural that I can do such as taking supplements and eating the right foods to take care of this temple.
